Interface Customization Services

1What is the actual process for customizing our interface?

Our Interface Customization Projects work in Multiple Phases:

Discovery Phase:

Techstur.com will start by asking general questions, this includes: What Interface or Interfaces we will be Branding? What Design we will be emulating? (This could be your Website, Intranet or any other Branding source that you want to use so your Interface seamlessly integrates into your existing company environment.) If your company has Branding Guidelines, we can work from this document. We can also work directly with your Marketing Department on the Design Phase to make sure your Interface is 100% branded to your Identity. We will also need your Hi-res Logo, Stock Images and any other Graphics required for the Design Phase of your project. The second part of the Discovery Phase is to collect basic information about your System Environment. What version of the Interface are you running? Is your site hosted on Windows 2003, 2008 or 2008 R2? 32 Byte or 64 Byte? What is the Build number of your NetScaler Appliance? What version is your Interface running? If your project has Database Components, what type of Database do you want to use? XML, Access, SQL Server? If SQL Server, do you want to use SQL Authentication or Windows Authentication? All these variables provide us with the information we require to build out a development environment that matches your production environment. With this core information, we will be ready to move into the Design Phase.

Design Phase:

The Design Phase is where we actually commence work on your Interface Designs. We take everything provided in the Discovery Phase of the project, your Hi-Res Logo, Branding Source we are emulating, stock images and other Branding Guidelines we have been given to create the initial Design to present to your company. Techstur.com takes the Design Phase of the project very seriously and allows 5 Business Days for the Design Process. We will go back and forth on the design until you give us what we call “Official Design Approval”. Once “Official Design Approval” is received via email confirmation we consider the Design of this Project Locked. Once a Project is locked, the Design is Final. Any changes to the Design once Design Approval is given will incur additional fees on top of the original project scope. This means that the client will be liable for any changes for both Design Studio time and additional Development time. Once the Design Phase is complete we will be ready to move into the Development Phase.

Development Phase:

The Development Phase starts once the client gives “Official Design Approval” and the Project Design is locked. Typically, the Development Phase of projects runs 10 Business Days. Total Project Business Days will be included on all Quotes. All Development work is performed on Techstur.com Systems. Each Project gets a Dedicated VMware Virtual Server or Appliance that is built to the specifications confirmed in the Discovery Phase (i.e. Web Interface Version, NetScaler Build Version, Outlook Web App Service Pack Version and Update Rollup Version). All Customizations are Version Specific. During the development Phase, Techstur.com will take the approved Design and implement that into the Custom Branded Interface as well as any Custom Add-on Modules or Client Specific Customizations that are also developed during this project phase. At the end of the Development, Phase Techstur.com will provide the client with a Development URL and Login Credentials so that the Project can be fully tested in Development. This allows for the Client to test all functionality to make sure everything is functioning as planned. This phase also allows the client to provide any feedback on any immediate issues that we can fix while the project is still in Development. Once the Development Phase is complete and the client approves the project for the install we move to the Install Phase.

Install Phase:

The Install phase starts with the client confirming the Development Phase project is ready to be installed in the Client’s Environment. We always recommend that the project is installed in a Non-Production Environment. Once we have confirmation that the client is ready for the install, Techstur.com creates the Full Install Package, which is generally a Zip file containing all project files for install on top of the Default Interface Product and also a Detailed Install Guide for Clients to follow to perform the Install of the project themselves. All projects come with 1 Install performed by Techstur.com via a one-time GoToMeeting session. Techstur.com performs 1 install into a Non-Production environment to make sure everything is installed and working. Any modifications performed at the time of the Install to the site because of environment variances with our production environment will be updated into the Core Install Package so the Client has the latest version of the Install package for further Installs. Techstur.com will perform additional Installs at the fee of $150 per additional Install. Once the project is installed into the client’s environment we move into the final Project Phase which is the Bug-Fix Phase.

Bug-Fix Phase:

All Projects come with a 30 Day Bug Fix Guarantee that starts at the time of Install. During this 30 day period, Techstur.com will keep the Development Server or Appliance online in our Development Environment and any issues found after installation and reported by the client will be fixed in Development, Confirmed Fixed, and the client will be provided with Updated Changed Files to fix the reported issues. Bugs are issues related only to the Original Project Scope; this includes Branding, Add-on Modules and Client Specific Customizations. At the end of the 30 Day Bug-Fix Phase, the client’s Development Server is Archived and saved into Storage. This leaves us at the end of our Multiple Phase Project.

Notes:

Version Specific:

All projects are Version Specific, this simply means that if we are Branding Web Interface 5.4, that is the version we are working with and all Customizations are built for that version. If Citrix releases Web Interface 5.5 or 6.0 or any other future release the Current Project Customization will not support future updates by the software provider. A new project will be Quoted and initiated for the new Version of the original core technology. In the case of Citrix Web Interface, this means a completely new project at the new Custom Branding Pricing at that time minus a 10% Discount on all Custom Branded Interfaces after the first project. This does not include Add-on Modules or Client Specific Customizations. This discount is for the Custom Branded Interface Only.

Certain Interfaces are much easier to Update and have the Design Ported, for example with Outlook Web App 2010 SP2 Update Rollup 1 to Update Rollup 2, we would charge $250 as opposed to creating an entire new Interface as is necessary with Citrix Web Interface. Please inquire at the time of Quoting about what your future options are.

2What interfaces do you currently customize?

Currently, we are customizing the following interfaces:

3What is your payment policy?
Techstur.com requires a 50% deposit on all interfaces before design work will commence. The balance for the project will be Invoiced prior to releasing Project Files for Install. All major credit cards are accepted. We can also take a PO from companies in the United States, but we will invoice electronically in full for the project at the time the PO is submitted to Techstur.com. Techstur.com is a Paperless Company and all Invoices must be submitted via Email or Fax. Funds from PO projects must be received before Project Files will be released for Install.
4What is your bug fix policy?
Techstur.com provides a 30-day bug fix window once the interface is installed in your environment.
5Do you work with other languages besides English?
Yes! By Default Techstur.com works with the base English Language File that comes with all Interfaces. We can also Brand and Customize other Supported Languages and we can also create Custom Language Files for Languages not supported by the Core Technology.
6We use Safeword with our Interface – can Techstur.com customize our interface with Safeword Integration?
Yes, if the interface supports Safeword Integration by default for an additional charge.
7We use RSA SecureID with our Interface – can Techstur.com customize our interface with RSA Integration?
Yes, if the interface supports RSA SecureID Integration by default for an additional charge.
8We use Entrust with our Interface – can Techstur.com customize our interface with RSA Integration?
Yes, if the interface supports Entrust Integration by default for an additional charge.
9What happens if a new version of our Custom Branded Interface is released?
All Custom Branded Interfaces are Version Specific. This means the Interface Branded is the Version the Branding Supports. I.e. If you Brand Citrix Web Interface 5.4 and Citrix Web Interface 6.0 or any other version is released then we would consider this a New Project, the rate for this Project would be determined at the time the New Version of Citrix Web Interface is released. We always offer to return customers a 10% Discount on all future Custom Branded Interfaces. This does not include Add-on Modules or Client Specific Customizations; this Discount is related only to the Core Branded Interface.
10How do you come up with the pricing for your Custom Branded Web Interface Products?
All Pricing is based on the actual amount of hours it physically takes to Design and Integrates the Design into the Interface using the framework provided by the core software’s manufacturer.
11Do you offer ongoing support?
We get this question quite frequently and the answer is both Yes and No. We do not consider Custom Interfaces to be an Emergency, so we do not offer After-hours or Weekend Support on Interfaces. In case you have an emergency, the proper procedure is to fall back to a Default Interface to allow your users to work while we perform any troubleshooting and support at a scheduled time. We try to do all troubleshooting in Development, but we can do a GoToMeeting Session to troubleshoot issues as needed. Our rate is $75/hour and all support work after the Bug-Fix period is billable.
12We want to move or install our Custom Interface on another server or multiple servers. Can you help us with this?
Absolutely! We charge $150 per Install of a Custom Interface.
13We would like to schedule an Install. What times are you available for Installs?
We schedule Installs Monday – Friday at 10am, 11am or 12pm EST.
14Do you Brand or Customize Microsoft SharePoint?
We do not offer any Customization of Microsoft SharePoint. We used to offer this service but discontinued this product Customization.
15Do you Brand or Customize Microsoft Lync?
At this time we do not offer Custom Branding or Customizations of Microsoft Lync.
16We have some specific Customizations that we need created. Can you help us with that?
Interface Customizations are our speciality. We will work with you to create a detailed scope for your Customization and then provide you a Quote for this Customization. If you don’t see it offered, just ask! We are a Software Development Company.
17How come you don’t publish your rates on your website?
Every project is customer specific and every customer has unique requirements. We like to get some basic information and open a line of communication via our Get A Quote form and from there we can work up a Custom Interface Quote for your Company.
18I would like to speak with someone at Techstur.com about my needs. What is the process?

19I want to talk to someone right now. Why can’t I reach a live person when I call?
Techstur.com is a small, family owned Internet-based Company. Most of our Sales and Install calls occur during the day Monday – Friday from 9am to 5pm. That means getting a live person on the phone is difficult because we are almost always on the phone. For that reason, we schedule all of our Phone Time to make sure we are able to help all our customers and future customers.
20What is your Refund Policy?
Techstur.com does not offer Refunds on our Interface Customization Products. All products are sold as is. If you have questions about a Module or a Customization, please ask us before we commence work on a project.

1Do you provide Branding of Citrix Receiver for Web for Cloud Gateway?
We do provide full Branding of Citrix Receiver for Web and have multiple Demo’s on our website for your review.
2Why do you call it Citrix Receiver for Web?
We had to choose a name for our Product, and we decided on Citrix Receiver for Web. But it is the same as Cloud Gateway Express Web Interface or Citrix Receiver for Web for Cloud Gateway or Cloud Gateway Web Interface. Whatever you choose to call it, we will Brand it!
3Do you offer Advanced Customizations for Citrix Receiver for Web?
At this time the product is so new that we are only offering our Custom Branding Package. That said, if you have a specific customization in mind that you want added to Citrix Receiver for Web, let us know and we will see what the possibilities are.
4Are you Citrix ready for Cloud Gateway?
Why yes, we are! Citrix Ready for Citrix Receiver for Web for Cloud Gateway. So you can rest assured that you will get the highest quality product within the Framework provided by Citrix.
5Do we have to pay any ongoing fees, licenses or support costs for using a Techstur.com Custom Branded Citrix Receiver for Web?
There are no ongoing fees or support obligations. Techstur.com will always be available in the future if there are branding customizations that need to be ported to a new version of Citrix Receiver for Web or added to your current Cloud Gateway Interface environment. We even offer Interface Insurance, so ask us about Interface Insurance for further information.
6How long will take to complete our Custom Branded Citrix Receiver for Web Project?
On average, to complete a Branding project we require 15 business days. We allow 5 Business Days for the Design Phase of the Project and 10 Business Days for the Development Phase of the project. Some projects require 15 business days for Development, but the time frame will be confirmed in your Official Quote.
7 If a new version of Citrix Receiver for Web is released, how do we update to the new version?
Because of the custom nature of a branded interface and/or customizations, there is not a direct upgrade path as there is with the Default Web Interface. Techstur.com can port your design and features to a new Version of Citrix Web Interface. We consider doing a new Version of Citrix Web Interface to be a new Project and pricing is based on the cost of our current Custom Branded Citrix Web Interface Branding Package. Previous customers will get a 10% Discount off of the Custom Branded Citrix Web Interface only. The discount does not apply to Add-on Modules or Client Specific Customizations.
8We use Entrust with our Interface – can Techstur.com customize our interface with RSA Integration?
Yes, if the interface supports Entrust Integration by default for an additional charge.
9What happens if a new version of our Custom Branded Interface is released?

Citrix NetScaler Gateway

1Our NetScalers are running in a High Availability mode and Load Balancing our Citrix Web Interfaces. Is that an issue?
Not at all. Your Custom NetScaler Install Package can be installed on as many NetScalers as you wish and Load Balancing won’t affect your NetScaler Branding at all. You will need to load the Custom Files on all NetScalers; the file changes will not populate themselves because it is a manual process.
2What packages do you offer for NetScaler Access gateway?

    5What versions of Citrix NetScaler Access Gateway do you customize?
    We are currently offering Branding on NetScaler Access Gateway 9.2 & 9.3 Build Versions.
    6 Do we have to provide you access to our NetScaler to perform the customization work?
    All work is performed in our Development Environment, each project gets its own NetScaler VPX running on VMware VSphere Configured to match your environment including your Build Version.
    7What is the Install Process for our Custom NetScaler Access Gateway Project?
    The install just takes a few minutes for our Custom Branded NetScaler Access Gateway. We provide an Install Package and Install Guide, the Install Package includes separate files for making the NetScaler Customization Persistent and a Custom rc.netscaler file for Portal Installs. The process for updating your NetScaler AG requires WINSCP or FileZilla to connect to the File System of your NetScaler and then the files are uploaded to the NetScaler and that is about it for the NetScaler Install. Load your Custom Branded NetScaler, a refresh of the page may be required, and login. Techstur.com provides 1 Install via a one-time GoToMeeting Install Session. Each additional Install is billed at $150 per install.
    8We use RSA SecureID with our Citrix NetScaler Access Gateway Appliance – can Techstur.com design with RSA Integration?
    Yes, we can Customize all of the RSA Multi-Factor Auth pages as well as support most other Multi-Factor Auth products for an additional fee.
    9Can the Custom Citrix NetScaler Access Gateway be installed on multiple NetScaler Appliances?
    The answer is yes. The Custom Branded Citrix NetScaler Access Gateway can be installed on Unlimited NetScaler Appliances.
    10We would like to Install the Interface on another NetScaler Access Gateway Appliance. Can Techstur.com help us do this?
    Absolutely. Each project comes with 1 Install and then we charge $150 per additional Install, be it an Instance on the same Web Interface Server or Separate Server.
    11Do you offer ongoing support?
    We get this question quite frequently and the answer is both Yes and No. We do not consider Custom Interfaces to be an Emergency, so we do not offer After-hours or Weekend Support on Interfaces. In the event that you have an emergency, the proper procedure is to fall back to a Default Interface to allow your users to work while we perform any troubleshooting and support at a scheduled time.     12It is my understanding that Citrix NetScaler Access Gateway reloads itself to Default at every reboot. Does that mean we will lose our Customizations every time we reboot our appliance?
    The answer in short is no. We provide everything needed for making the files persistent between reboots including a Custom rc.netscaler script for making the Portal Files persistent between reboots.
    13We are running the Citrix NetScaler Symphony Theme. Did Techstur.com create this Theme?
    We sure did! We worked with Citrix to create the NetScaler Symphony Theme. Citrix corporate employees login to the Symphony Theme site everyday, as Citrix has adopted that for their NetScaler Environment as well.
    14Are you Citrix Ready?
    All of our Custom Branded Citrix Interface Products and Customizations are certified Citrix Ready.
    15Do you offer Advanced Customizations of your Citrix NetScaler Access Gateway products?
    Currently we offer Branding Only for our Citrix NetScaler Products, but that does not mean we can’t offer advanced customizations. Let us know what you are looking to do and we can let you know the possibilities.

    Citrix Web Interface

    1How long will take to finish our Custom Branded Citrix Web Interface Project?
    On average, to complete a Branding project we require 15 business days. We allow 5 Business Days for the Design Phase of the Project and 10 Business Days for the Development Phase of the project. Some projects require 15 Business Days for Development but the time frame will be confirmed in your Official Quote.
    2. We currently have a Citrix Web Interface 4.5 that has custom features previously developed. Can Techstur.com move the custom features to the latest version of Citrix Web Interface?
    Absolutely! We can port over any custom features from a previous version so it will function in the latest version of Citrix Web Interface.
    3We have some custom features that we would like developed for our Citrix Web Interface. Can you help us?
    Absolutely! Because Techstur.com is a full featured Development Company, we have a firm grasp of the technology behind the Citrix Web Interface and can perform Advanced Interface Customization Development.
    4Can the Custom Citrix Web Interface work with NLB Clustering?
    Definitely!
    5We use Safeword with our Citrix Web Interface. Can Techstur.com design with Safeword Integration?
    Absolutely. We work with RSA, SafeWord, Entrust and pretty much any other Multi-Factor Auth Product that works with Citrix Web Interface. We do charge additional fees for these Multi-Factor Auth Customizations.
    6Do we have to pay any ongoing fees, licenses or support costs for using a Techstur.com Custom Citrix Web Interface?
    There are no ongoing fees or support obligations. Techstur.com will always be available in the future if there are new features that need to be customized or if the design and customizations need to be ported to a new version of Citrix Web Interface. We even offer Interface Insurance, so ask us for more information about Interface Insurance.
    7What versions of Citrix Web Interface do you customize?
    We are currently featuring Interface Customization Services for Web Interface 5.4, but we can still customize the 4.* and 5.* series of Citrix Web Interface releases.
    8 If a new version of Citrix Web Interface is released, how do we update to the new version?
    Because of the custom nature of a branded interface and/or customizations, there is not a direct upgrade path as there is with the Default Web Interface. [This seems to go against what you said in some of the above answers like the ones at lines 5 and 17 where it doesn’t mention any fee for porting the customization to a new Interface version.]
    9Do we have to pay any ongoing fees, licenses or support costs for using a Techstur.com Custom Citrix Web Interface?
    The answer is no – there are no ongoing fees or support obligations. Techstur.com will always be available in the future if there are new features that need to be customized or if the design and customizations need to be ported to a new Version of Citrix Web Interface.
    10Can the Custom Citrix Web Interface be installed on multiple servers?

    No, not at all! As part of the Discovery Phase, we find out what Operating System and Version you are running and mirror our development environment to match your systems.
    13What is the installation process?

      Citrix CloudPortal Services Manager

      1Do you provide Branding of Citrix CloudPortal Services Manager?
      We do provide full Branding of Citrix CloudPortal Services Manager Templates and have multiple Demo’s on our website for your review.
      2How are Citrix CloudPortal Services Manager Templates installed?
      Templates are installed using the Built-in GUI Interface from the CloudPortal Services Manager which can then be assigned to URL or Company.
      3Do you offer Advanced Customizations for Citrix CloudPortal Services Manager Templates?
      Currently we are offering Custom Branding of Citrix CloudPortal Services Manager Templates only.
      4Are you Citrix ready for Citrix CloudPortal Services Manager Templates?

We try to do all troubleshooting in Development, but we can do a GoToMeeting Session to troubleshoot issues as needed. Our rate is $75/hour and all support work after the Bug-Fix period is billable.
